A four-year-old girl from the Camp 4 Community is recovering after enduring multiple lifesaving surgeries following what her parents allege was a horrific rape and attempted murder by an 18-year-old neighbor.According to the child’s father, Terrence, the ordeal began on Wednesday when his daughter went missing while both parents were at work. During the frantic search, a young boy reported seeing the child with Abraham, an 18-year-old resident of the same rental compound. A community woman later confirmed she had seen the pair walking toward an unfinished building but did not witness them return.
Terrence said he confronted the teenager, who pointed him toward an abandoned structure. After searching one building without success, he entered another nearby and heard his daughter’s faint cries for help. Inside, he discovered her severely injured, with a slit to her neck and significant trauma to her genitals.The child was rushed to a local clinic before being transferred to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia for advanced treatment. She later underwent additional surgeries at Mital Hospital in Yekepa and at JFK, where doctors continue to monitor her recovery.
Police have arrested the 18-year-old suspect, though formal charges have not yet been disclosed. The case has sparked outrage across the community, with residents demanding swift justice and stronger protections for children. Authorities have assured the public that the matter remains under active investigation, emphasizing that the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
