President Joseph Nymah Boakai has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the living standards of Liberians, even as the government undertakes measures that some citizens find difficult to accept. Speaking at today’s Cabinet meeting, the President emphasized that recent actions, including demolitions in certain areas, are part of a broader plan to create lasting benefits for the people.
“We are seeing many positive things happening,” President Boakai told his Cabinet. “We’re making efforts to improve the lives of the people.

The living conditions might be difficult, but some people don’t understand why we’re doing some demolitions. We hope in the long run they’ll understand that nothing we’re doing is to hurt anybody, but for the benefit of the people.”  The President’s remarks come at a time when the government is pushing forward with infrastructure renewal and urban development projects. Officials say these initiatives are designed to modernize communities, improve public services, and lay the foundation for stronger economic opportunities.

While acknowledging the hardship that some citizens may feel in the short term, President Boakai urged patience and trust in the government’s vision. His message was clear: the administration’s actions are not meant to displace or disadvantage anyone, but rather to ensure that future generations inherit a more sustainable and prosperous Liberia. Cabinet members echoed the President’s sentiments, pledging to continue working toward policies that balance immediate challenges with long-term progress. The meeting closed with renewed calls for unity and collective effort, reinforcing the idea that Liberia’s path forward depends on shared sacrifice and shared hope.
