Labour Minister Cllr. Coorper W. Kruah Sr. has declared 2026 ‘a year of peace, reconciliation and unity’ among workers in order to achieve the ARREST AGENDA of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. Minister Kruah recalled that during the course of last year 2025, the the Ministry made tremendous achievements in regulating the labour sector, creating gradual conditions for employment and guiding Liberian workers in the private sector, but in the midst of internal confusion which overshadowed these gains. Addressing the first general staff meeting of the ministry for 2026 on Wednesday, Januray 7, 2026, Minister Kruah expressed remorse over whatever administrative decisions his administration may have instituted against workers in the last year and urged the workers themselves to forgive each other, in the spirit of genuine reconciliation in the new year.
A Labour Ministry press release issued Wednesday quotes the Labour boss as stressing that the achievements of the Ministry last year can only remarkably increase this year, in the spirit of renewed unity, peace and dedication to serving the Liberian people under the Rescue Mission Government of President Boakai. Touching on the collection of over USD$12m from Alien Work Permit last year, which greatly enhanced the country’s revenue portfolio, Minister Kruah attributed this success to the collective efforts of all employees of the Ministry; thus, expressing thanks and appreciation to them for their unwavering commitment.
“At least ninety percent of the procurement process for a bus to ease some of the current transportation problems confronting you have been concluded, and in the next one month your bus will be here,” the Labour Minister sounded, as the workers responded with a thunderous applause. In separate remarks, the Director of Transport Elijah Kerkulah and Madame Yama A. Dorko, Head of HIV Unit at Workplace, both lauded the Minister for the level of unity that has replaced the initial internal confusion which engulfed the ministry, describing same as a normal human phenomenon.
They further commended Minister Kruah for the recent ‘Season Food Packages of one bag of rice and financial soup kind distributed among the workers, describing it as ‘unprecedented in the history of the Ministry’. For their parts, Deputy Labour Ministers for Administration and Assistant Minister for Regional Labour Affairs, Othello P. Mansuo and Madam Daybah Johnson, amomg other Senior Staff, welcomed the Minister’s call for reconciliation and urged the workers to see each other as family members.
