The leadership of the House of Representatives has taken a decisive decision to cite Bomi County District #3 lawmaker Sam P. Jallah for investigation following leaked audio linking Jallah to accusing the House of fraudulently passing the supplementary budget of 53 million. Jallah has since distanced himself from the audio, arguing that it is faked.
The motion to cite Jallah for investigation was taken by Bong County Electoral District #3 lawmaker J. Marvin Cole and endorsed during a leadership meeting held on Monday, April 27, 2026. The probe will be conducted by the House Committee on Rules, Order and Administration following a formal complaint from fellow lawmakers. The complaint centers on alleged controversial comment made by Jallah that “one person can just sit and sign the budget” regarding the supplementary budget.
The leaked audio surfaced on social media on Thursday, April 23, 2026, following the passage of the U.S. $53 million supplementary budget. Following the circulation of the audio, our reporter contacted Jallah for clarity; he clarified that the audio is contradictory and does not represent him. Jallah is facing a possible 3-month suspension or expulsion based on the outcome of the investigation and recommendations by the committee.
The committee is chaired by Bong County District #2 lawmaker James Kolleh and co-chaired by Rivergee County Electoral District #1 lawmaker Alexander Poure. The committee is tasked with investigating and reporting findings to Plenary for possible further legislative action. The Bomi County District #3 lawmaker Sam P. Jallah has faced significant scrutiny following the expulsion of Representative Yekeh Y. Kolubah. Although Jallah’s name appeared as one of the 49 signatories on the resolution to remove Kolubah, he has firmly denied signing the document or endorsing any measure for the lawmaker's expulsion.
House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon has urged full cooperation, stressing the need to uphold integrity and discipline in the House. The move signals the House’s commitment to accountability and maintaining legislative integrity.
