The Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce (AREPT) strongly condemns the brutal assault on one of its staff members by Mr. Marwolo Jallah, whose company, Zest Group of Business Inc., is currently under active investigation by the Taskforce. The incident occurred when the staff member went out to officially serve a letter to Mr. Jallah, requesting his appearance as a person of interest in connection with the ongoing investigation. During this process, Mr. Jallah forcibly held the staff member against his will and flogged him, inflicting physical harm in a blatant act of aggression.

The matter has since been reported to the Liberia National Police (LNP), and the suspect is currently in custody of the police at Zone 8 Police Station. AREPT considers this barbaric act not only a criminal assault on its employee but also a direct attack on the institution and Liberia’s collective fight against corruption. Such conduct represents an attempt to intimidate and obstruct justice, and will not be tolerated under any circumstance.

The Taskforce warns that any individual or entity that seeks to interfere with or obstruct AREPT’s lawful operations will be met with decisive legal action. It further assures the public that it remains resolute, strong, and unwavering in its mission to trace, identify, and recover stolen and suspicious public assets. AREPT extends its appreciation to the LNP for its prompt response and calls on the public to continue supporting the Taskforce as it upholds the principles of accountability, transparency, and the rule of law in Liberia.
