Indian Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Manoj Bihari Verma, has pledged his Government's commitment to boosting Liberia’s Technical and Manpower deficits. Ambassador Verma said, “We believe that the best thing any country can do is to invest in its people. Through such initiatives like the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program, India has shared democratic values and a common vision for development.” According to a Labor Ministry release,  the Indian Ambassador was speaking recently at program marking the certification of 26(twenty-six) staff of the Ministry following the completion of capacity training program from the Liberia Institute of Public Administration, LIPA. 

The training focused on 'Monitoring, Project Management and Public Financial Management'.  In recent months, the Indian Envoy recalled that his country’s bilateral cooperation with Liberia has reached new heights, with trade grown by an impressive 54 percent, netting to nearly USD400 Million in the financial year 2024 to 2025. Ambassador Verma also maintained that Liberia- India relationship was built on strong democratic values, assuring  the Labour Ministry officials of the vast opportunities being offered by his country to Liberian public sector workers in various fields,  some of which the Ministry could benefit from under a  genuine cooperation. In his statement of appreciation and encouragement, Labor Minister, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr. expressed delight over the achievement of his staff and challenged them to utilize the skills acquired to enhance productivity. 

“Your commitment to duties will lead to the achievement of the set transformative goals of the 'ARREST AGENDA' for INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT (AAID) of President Joseph Nyumah Boakai and the Rescue Mission Government.” Minister Kruah stressed. Earlier, LIPA Deputy Director General for Administration, Mr. Michael Wah, disclosed plans by the government to infuse new dynamism within the public sector work force through skills training. Mr. Wah said LIPA, in partnership with the Ghana Institute for Public Administration (GIPA), has embarked on providing advanced technical training to Liberian Government workers in various fields. 

The ceremony was also graced by the Director General of the Civil Service Agency, CSA, Josiah Joekai and the Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of the Executive Mansion, Atty. Jamaima Harris, commended the Labour Ministry for the training, describing it as one of the key prerequisite in meeting up with the goals of the Performance Management Compliance System (PMCS). DG Joekai and Atty. Harris also reemphasized the importance of the ongoing LIPA training for strategic personnel across government spending ministries and agencies. 

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, the Labor Ministry Director of Personnel, Mr. Mohfel Dekpah, thanked Minister Kruah and his team for seeking to advance employees' skills to align with the overall objectives of the Arrest Agenda for Inclusive Development, AAID through PMCS. Meanwhile, several staff of the Labor Ministry are expected to depart the country shortly to undergo similar capacity building training in neighboring Sierra Leone.
