A group of Concerned Citizens gathered at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning in Monrovia to express their profound appreciation to the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to sustaining Liberia’s economic growth. According to the group’s leader, Mr. Boakia Perry, the initiative was inspired by citizens’ recognition of Minister Ngafuan’s tireless efforts in maintaining financial stability and ensuring a steady flow of money across the country.
Mr. Perry noted that the Minister’s leadership has restored hope and confidence among Liberians especially at a time when many had anticipated economic hardship. He praised the Minister for his transparency, accountability, and dedication to public service. “We, as citizens, are not just observers we are witnesses to the positive changes in our economy. Minister Ngafuan’s careful planning and sound financial management have brought relief to families, businesses, and communities across Liberia,” Mr. Perry said.
The citizens also expressed joy over the increase in the national budget to US$1.2 billion for 2026, describing it as a clear sign of progress and opportunity for national development. They believe the proposed budget, if approved, will empower Liberians across the country through better services, job creation, and stronger community initiatives. “We are happy for the increase in the national budget and we are hopeful that the National Legislature will concur with it so that more Liberians can benefit,” Mr. Perry added. The peaceful gathering was filled with songs, cheers, and words of gratitude as citizens held placards reading “Thank You Minister Ngafuan” and “Leadership That Delivers.”
The group applauded the Minister for his contribution to promoting economic discipline, fiscal responsibility, and good governance. One citizen was heard saying, “Minister, don’t listen to critics just keep doing what is right for the Liberian people.” Mr. Perry concluded by calling on all Liberians to join in appreciating and supporting national leaders who are working hard to move the country forward. He emphasized that appreciation encourages performance and builds unity across the nation. The event ended in an atmosphere of joy and renewed commitment to support the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning in its continued effort to drive national progress and development.
