The National Port Authority (NPA), in collaboration with APM Terminals, the Dock Workers Union, the Ministry of Labor, and the Liberia Labor Congress, has signed a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) aimed at strengthening cooperation between management and workers, specifically those in the Dock Workersโ€“Level 2 category. The signing ceremony, held at the Freeport of Monrovia, brought together representatives of the various institutions, marking a significant step toward promoting industrial harmony, mutual respect, and improved working conditions at Liberiaโ€™s busiest seaport. 

The agreement underscores the collective commitment of all parties to uphold fair labor practices, enhance productivity, and ensure that workersโ€™ rights are respected in accordance with national labor laws and international standards. In remarks at the ceremony, Managing Director of the National Port Authority, Hon. Sekou A. M. Dukuly, commended APM Terminals and the Dock Workers Union for their continued partnership and dedication to maintaining a peaceful and productive work environment. โ€œThe signing of this agreement is a testament to our shared commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and professionalism,โ€ Managing Director Dukuly said. 

โ€œWe encourage all parties to adhere to the principles of this CBA and to use the established mechanisms for resolving disputes in order to sustain peace and stability within the port community.โ€ Hon. Dukuly further highlighted the importance of collaboration between management and labor unions as a key factor in driving operational efficiency and supporting national economic growth through the smooth operation of the port sector. The Ministry of Labor and the Liberia Labor Congress, serving as witnesses to the agreement, lauded the parties for demonstrating maturity and a spirit of compromise in reaching a mutually beneficial accord. The new CBA is expected to enhance industrial relations, improve workersโ€™ welfare, and promote sustainable cooperation at the Freeport of Monrovia.
