Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Gedeh County Detachment arrested five Guinean nationals on October 22, 2025, at about 3:09 PM in Zwedru City. The operation, conducted at Polgal Pharmacy under a search and seizure warrant, led to the confiscation of 78 strips and 5 pieces of Tramadol, LD$660,000, US$500, (26) rams of single-barrel gun ammunition, one single-barrel gun, and a book.
The suspects include: Amadou Barry, 40 Ashar Barr, 21 Abu Layee Sow, 38 Mamadu Jallah, 25 Alimatu Jallah, 18 The drug suspects are currently detained at the LDEA headquarters in Zwedru for investigation. Upon conclusion, the seized items other than drugs will be turned over to the relevant authorities, while drug-related charges will be dealt with as per the new drug law Meanwhile, the LDEA has assured the public of continued updates on this case.
