In line with the Presidential mandate on real property tax payments, the Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) on Thursday hosted a team from the Taxpayer Services Division of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA). The LRA team led a comprehensive awareness and education session for LSEZA’s mid-level and senior management staff, focusing on how to properly register and pay real property taxes.
The facilitators demonstrated step-by-step processes through the LRA’s digital platforms and emphasized the importance of compliance in supporting national development and improving public service delivery. During the engagement, valuable questions and concerns were raised by members of the LSEZA management team, reflecting their strong interest in understanding and adhering to the new compliance procedures, as per the executive order as issued by President Joseph Boakai.
The LRA representatives provided clear and practical responses, ensuring that all participants gained a better grasp of the requirements, timelines, and payment procedures associated with real property taxation. The session also provided an opportunity for open dialogue between LSEZA and the LRA, strengthening inter-agency collaboration in advancing fiscal discipline and promoting transparency in government operations. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the government’s vision of improving domestic resource mobilization for sustainable national growth.
LSEZA remains fully committed to ensuring that members of its Senior Management Team comply with the Presidential directive and serve as examples of integrity and accountability in public service. The Authority extends appreciation to the LRA team for their professionalism and technical guidance and looks forward to continued partnership in promoting tax compliance across all levels of government.
