The Executive Chairman of the Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA), Hon. Prince Wreh, on Tuesday hosted His Excellency Mr. Lahoucine Rahmouni, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Liberia, and Counselor Houssain Asrouti, at the Authority’s headquarters in Monrovia. The high-level meeting focused on advancing bilateral relations between Liberia and Morocco, with particular emphasis on promoting trade, industrial development, and investment within Liberia’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Both parties expressed a shared commitment to exploring practical avenues that would enhance economic cooperation and create meaningful opportunities for growth.
Discussions centered on key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, trade facilitation, and public-private partnerships. Chairman Wreh outlined LSEZA’s strategic plans to transform Liberia into a competitive investment destination, highlighting the country’s fertile land, natural resource potential, and energetic youthful population as pillars of sustainable economic expansion. He emphasized that the Authority stands ready to collaborate with international partners especially Morocco in building value chains that will boost local production, generate employment, and stimulate inclusive development across Liberia’s emerging economic corridors.
Ambassador Rahmouni, in response, reaffirmed Morocco’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with Liberia. He lauded LSEZA’s progressive initiatives and underscored Morocco’s willingness to serve as a bridge for increased engagement between Moroccan investors and Liberian enterprises. The Ambassador further expressed optimism that such collaboration would yield mutual benefits and accelerate economic transformation in both nations.
In a gesture symbolizing friendship and solidarity, Chairman Wreh gowned Ambassador Rahmouni, signifying LSEZA’s appreciation for Morocco’s continued support and interest in Liberia’s development agenda. The visit marks a significant step toward deepening Liberia–Morocco relations and underscores the growing role of the Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority in positioning the country as a regional hub for investment, trade, and industrial growth.
