The Office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Liberia, Cllr. Oswald N. Tweh, \has strongly dismissed as false and misleading recent claims alleging that the Minister and his Chief of Staff are involved in illegal mining activities. The claims which originated from a caller on the “OK Afternoon Conversation” program aired on Monday, who falsely alleged that the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Justice was seen at a mining site. 

The Office of the Minister of Justice has categorically denied the allegations, clarifying that neither Minister Tweh nor any member of his office, is involved directly or indirectly in any form of mining activity, whether legal or illegal. A statement is quoted as saying such claims are entirely baseless and intended to tarnish the reputation of the Minister and the integrity of the Ministry of Justice,” the statement emphasized. “We challenge those making such allegations to produce credible evidence to substantiate their claims instead of engaging in reckless speculation and misinformation.”, the statement noted. 

The Ministry also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that all acts of illegal mining and natural resource exploitation are investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the laws of Liberia. The Office of the Justice Minister has assured the public that it remains focused on its core mandate of administering justice, strengthening the rule of law, and protecting the interests of the Liberian people.
