NTA Leadership Inspects New Sanitation Facility and Administrative Building Project

In a clear demonstration of commitment to employee welfare and infrastructure development, the Managing Director of the National Transit Authority (NTA), Hon. Edmund F. Forh, along with Deputy Managing Director for Administration, Mr. T. Melvin Cephas, led an official inspection of two key infrastructure projects: the newly completed six-room toilet facility and the ongoing construction of the NTA's new Administrative Building. The inspection which followed a full day of Board deliberations, was carried out in the company of Board Chairman Hon. Benedict Y. Harleson, Sr. and Hon. Arthur Gliklay, member of the NTA Board. The visit aimed not only to review progress but also to reinforce leadership's hands-on approach to oversight and accountability. The new six-room restroom complex, located as an extension to the warehouse, is set to significantly improve working conditions for staff. Previously, more than 400 employees shared a cramped four-room facility located within the training hall that is currently being used as offices. The new facility represents a notable upgrade, offering modern, hygienic, and spacious restrooms designed to meet the growing needs of the workforce. The improved sanitation infrastructure is seen as a major step forward in fostering a respectful and comfortable work environment. It underscores the management commitment to workplace standards that align with both employee needs and institutional values of professionalism and care. In addition to reviewing the restroom facility, the management team also toured the site of the new Administrative Building, currently under construction. The purpose of the visit was to physically assess the progress being made since the project's groundbreaking. The building, once completed, is expected to centralize administrative operations and support the NTA's expanding mandate. Members of the Board expressed satisfaction with the level of work done thus far, while also noting areas that require continued attention to ensure timelines and quality standards are met. These site visits mark a continued effort by the NTA leadership to invest in infrastructure, prioritize employee welfare, and ensure effective project execution through regular oversight.
