LFA First Division: Round Two Delivers Shocking Results

The second round of the LFA First Division league kicked off on Sunday, delivering a series of surprising results across the various venues.

Wologizi FC Stuns Reigning Champions

In the most unexpected outcome of the day, newly promoted Wologizi FC secured a stunning 2-1 victory over current league champions, FC Fassell, in New Kru Town. Many had anticipated Wologizi would struggle after losing their first game 2-0 to Freeport FC, but the "Mountaineers" had a different script. They took a commanding 2-0 lead before halftime. Although the champions pulled one back after the break, threatening to level the score, Wologizi's defense held firm for the full 90 minutes to secure their first three points of the season and send a massive message to the league.

Paynesville FC’s Goal Explosion.

Goals were certainly raining down at the SKD practice pitch as Paynesville FC dominated Freeport FC in a massive 6-2 win. Paynesville set the pace early when Ayetay Yangbe opened the scoring just five minutes in. Before the break, Tamba Kone and Alvin Quarva doubled the lead, putting Paynesville up 3-0.

The goals didn't stop in the second half. Rual Somah, along with a second goal from Tamba Kone, and a strike from Mickey Dokie completed the brilliant day for the citizens of Paynesville, rounding out the 6-2 rout.
