Teddy Kollie Refutes Match-Fixing Allegations, Apologizes for Semi-Final Exit.

Watanga FC goalkeeper Teddy Kollie has strongly denied allegations of match-fixing following Margibi County’s 5-1 semi-final defeat to Nimba County in the National County Sports Meet on Wednesday. The shot-stopper, who is currently representing Margibi, addressed a wave of criticism from fans and stakeholders who questioned the integrity of the performance. Kollie described the accusations as "untrue, unsubstantiated, and malicious," asserting that they are designed to tarnish his professional reputation.

‎Kollie clarified that he never received any communication or financial inducements from anyone associated with Nimba County. Addressing rumors regarding his absence from the team camp, the goalkeeper explained that he and four teammates briefly left the camp to meet with the County Superintendent. Their goal was to secure formal contracts prior to the semi-final match. While defending his integrity, Kollie offered a sincere apology for the heavy defeat:

‎"I am sorry for the game against Nimba County. We went out to have a decent game, but it was just a bad day on the pitch, and we got an unexpected result," Kollie stated. "As for the rumors of match-fixing, it is false and misleading. I have never been involved in such a thing, and I would never do anything to embarrass my name, my family, or my career."

‎Kollie is now calling on the media, football pundits, and the Margibi County Legislative Caucus to conduct a full and impartial investigation to clear his name. ‎Efforts to reach the Margibi Steering Committee Chairman, Mr. Tony Walker, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of publication.
