Under the visionary leadership of its President, Reverend Alvin E. Attah, AME University is rapidly transforming into a modern citadel of learning—defined by innovation, community impact, and academic excellence. From empowering young minds at the grassroots level to pioneering digital education at the tertiary stage, the University is charting a bold course toward global relevance. At the heart of this transformation is a deep commitment to community engagement. Recently, AME University extended its reach beyond campus walls by distributing educational materials to more than 200 children in the Sonniwein Community of Monrovia.
Addressing the excited beneficiaries, Rev. Attah described the children as “future students of AME University,” urging them to take their education seriously as the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. The gesture resonated strongly within the community. Sonniwein Community Chairperson Lovina Krangar praised the University for its consistent and inclusive support, noting that AME University’s outreach extends beyond children to include the elderly. Her commendation reinforced the institution’s growing reputation not only as a center of higher learning, but also as a compassionate and responsible neighbor invested in human development.
On the academic front, AME University is equally redefining student preparedness for a fast-changing world. In partnership with Orange Digital Center, nearly 100 junior, senior, and graduating students recently participated in an intensive two-day training on job readiness and the future of work. The program exposed students to practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI)—from developing competitive CVs and cover letters to identifying global career opportunities and adapting to emerging labor-market trends.
Orange Digital Center Senior Manager Zaza Mulbah emphasized the importance of digital empowerment in today’s economy, while AME University’s Director of External Relations, Joseph Kyne, described the initiative as both timely and strategic, particularly for the 2025 graduating class poised to enter an increasingly competitive global workforce. Perhaps the most groundbreaking milestone yet came with the launch of Liberia’s first MTN Digital Café at a tertiary institution, established through a partnership between AME University and Lone Star Cell MTN.
Situated on the University’s main campus, the state-of-the-art facility is designed as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and digital learning—opening new frontiers for students, faculty, and researchers alike. The historic unveiling attracted a high-level gathering of stakeholders and change-makers, including representatives from UN Women, the Ministry of Education, and senior MTN executives led by CEO Rahul De, who described the café as a pioneering investment in Liberia’s educational future. In his remarks, Rev. Attah underscored the broader vision behind the project, declaring it “more than a café—it is an investment in innovation, knowledge, and the future of Liberia.”
From nurturing young learners in surrounding communities to equipping university students with cutting-edge digital and professional skills, AME University—under Rev. Alvin E. Attah’s stewardship—is steadily rising as a beacon of excellence and innovation. With a clear focus on relevance, inclusion, and global competitiveness, the institution is not only shaping the future of education in Liberia, but also preparing a new generation of leaders ready to thrive on the world stage.
