Dillon, Labor Minister Kruah Hold Solidarity Talks to Strengthen Cooperation

Senator Darius Dillon and Minister of Labor Cllr. Cooper Kruah on Thursday held a constructive solidarity engagement intended to ease recent tensions and reinforce mutual cooperation in the national interest. The meeting, convened at the Capitol, was facilitated by Senator Thomas Yaya Nimely, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Labor, who underscored the importance of dialogue in promoting harmony between government institutions. The engagement comes amid public discussions surrounding labor-related decisions and oversight responsibilities. 

Both leaders expressed a shared commitment to ensuring that their respective roles are aligned with the broader objective of improving the welfare of the Liberian people. During the dialogue, Labor Minister Kruah clarified his position regarding the recent exchanges and reaffirmed that he respects Senator Dillon’s constitutional oversight responsibilities. “I have spoken to folks, particularly party members, to understand that Senator Dillon is performing his constitutional mandate and not acting to undermine anyone,” Minister Kruah stated. He emphasized that constructive engagement among leaders is vital to building a stable and productive national workforce. For his part, Senator Dillon reiterated that his advocacy on labor matters is driven solely by his responsibility to ensure fairness and accountability in keeping with the expectations of the Liberian people. 

He noted that there is no personal misunderstanding between him and the Minister. “I hold nothing against Minister Kruah. My quest is to ensure Liberians get the jobs they deserve,” Senator Dillon affirmed. “I vow not to back down from my advocacy.” Both leaders expressed appreciation to Senator Nimely for facilitating the meeting and pledged to continue engaging in the spirit of cooperation and transparency. They agreed that protecting the rights and job security of Liberian workers remains a shared objective that requires unity, collaboration, and consistent dialogue. The solidarity meeting marks an important step toward strengthening institutional harmony and reinforcing the government’s commitment to fostering a fair and accountable labor sector for all Liberians.
