The newly appointed Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitzgerald Biago, has convened a high-level meeting with all operational and administrative heads of the Agency to set the tone for his leadership, outlining a firm stance on discipline, accountability, and professionalism.

Flanked by his deputies, DCP Biago expressed gratitude to the President of Liberia, H.E. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, for entrusting him and his team with the responsibility of leading the national fight against drug trafficking and abuse. He vowed that his administration will execute its mandate without fear or favor, stressing that loyalty to duty and adherence to procedures will remain uncompromised.

In a stern warning to the chain of command, the Officer-in-Charge emphasized that no act of indiscipline, insubordination, or sabotage will be tolerated under his watch. He cautioned that any officer who violates established administrative procedures will face immediate and decisive action. As part of reinforcing institutional discipline, DCP Biago instructed that all operational heads sign a confidentiality code, noting that the unauthorized leakage of sensitive information will result in severe sanctions. He underscored that officers found culpable will be held personally accountable for undermining the Agency’s integrity and credibility.

The Officer-in-Charge further mandated strict time consciousness, professionalism, and accuracy in the discharge of official duties. He condemned the circulation of misinformation within the Agency, describing it as a “virus” that weakens operational output and threatens national security. Assuring the Liberian people, DCP Biago reaffirmed that the war on drugs will be waged with an aggressive, uncompromising, and coordinated approach. He assured the public that despite existing challenges, the LDEA under his command will remain firm, enforce the law, and pursue traffickers and abusers with precision until the menace of drugs is eradicated.

Meanwhile, The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) categorically condemns and disassociates the new management team from a malicious statement being circulated regarding the alleged release of drug suspects under its supervision. The Agency makes it unequivocally clear that the newly appointed Management Team—mandated by the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Joseph N. Boakai—has no involvement whatsoever with such a publication.

This latest act of misinformation is nothing short of a calculated attempt by detractors to sow confusion, discredit the Agency, and undermine the national fight against drugs. The LDEA finds such actions reprehensible, irresponsible, and detrimental to the collective security of the Liberian people. The new Management Team wishes to assure the public that it will not bow to smear campaigns or distractions orchestrated by individuals and groups whose only motive is to frustrate the Agency’s mandate. The LDEA stands ready and determined to wage an unrelenting war against the trafficking, sale, and abuse of dangerous substances across Liberia.

The public is strongly advised to treat this false publication with the contempt it deserves. The LDEA will remain vigilant, focused, and uncompromising in the execution of its duties under the law.
