Senate Confirms Mohammed Sheriff as Managing Director of LEC

The Liberian Senate has officially confirmed Mohammed M. Sherif as the new Managing Director of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC). His confirmation follows a comprehensive review process conducted by the Senate’s Hydrocarbon, Energy & Environment Committee over the past week. Throughout several sessions, including a noted continuation of his hearing before the committee, Sherif presented his strategic vision for bolstering Liberia’s power sector. Senators engaged constructively, probing areas such as power supply stability, tariff reforms, investment mobilization, and efforts to improve transparency and efficiency. Managing Director Sherif expressed deep gratitude to the Senate for their vote of confidence and to President Boakai’s administration.
