The Embassy of Liberia in Paris, in collaboration with Next African Generation, hosted a high-profile Tourism and Economic Promotion Reception on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The event brought together diplomats, investors, development partners, cultural envoys, and emerging African leaders to highlight Liberia’s economic opportunities, cultural heritage, and vision for sustainable development. The reception served as a platform to position Liberia as a destination for investment and tourism, while also reinforcing the country’s role in regional and global peacebuilding.
Delivering welcome remarks, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Teeko Tozay Yorlay, Sr. underscored Liberia’s historic significance as Africa’s first independent republic. He reminded guests of Liberia’s longstanding contributions to international cooperation through institutions such as the African Union, the United Nations, ECOWAS, and the Mano River Union. Ambassador Yorlay highlighted Liberia’s strategic advantages, including its location along the West African coast, abundant natural resources, rich biodiversity, and cultural diversity. He painted a vivid picture of Liberia’s fifteen counties from Montserrado to Nimba, Lofa, Gbarpolu, and the country’s pristine coastal regions describing them as untapped opportunities for tourism and investment.
The Ambassador also outlined the Government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) 2025–2029, a comprehensive framework designed to drive national transformation. The agenda focuses on revitalizing agribusiness, modernizing infrastructure, advancing good governance, building human capital, improving public health, and promoting tourism as a key growth sector. He reaffirmed Liberia’s openness to investment across multiple industries, including agriculture, energy, tourism, ICT, infrastructure, real estate, education, and healthcare.
According to Ambassador Yorlay, these sectors represent the backbone of Liberia’s economic renewal and offer significant opportunities for international partnerships. The Ambassador commended the young leaders of Next African Generation for their creativity, leadership, and commitment to Africa’s progress. He urged them to continue fostering innovation, integrity, and collaboration as they shape the continent’s future. In his closing remarks, Ambassador Yorlay called for stronger African solidarity and cooperation.
He emphasized that Liberia’s development journey is intertwined with the broader aspirations of the continent, and that collective action is essential to building a prosperous and inclusive future for Africa. The Tourism and Economic Promotion Reception was widely seen as a strategic effort to strengthen Liberia’s global image, attract investment, and showcase the country’s cultural richness.
