Gonet Academy has entered its fifth anniversary with a bold showcase of expansion, technological transformation, and national relevance, as CEO Mohammed Kerkulah described the institution as a “homegrown engine of empowerment” during a weekend press briefing. Kerkulah outlined a series of digital breakthroughs that now define the academy’s operations ranging from online enrollment and a growing virtual learning platform serving more than 200 blended learners, to a certificate verification tool, trainer portal, and the AI-powered chatbot “Ask Gonet.”
He recounted the academy’s early days, noting that the institution launched in 2021 with just a laptop and a rented room. Today, he said, it stands among Liberia’s leading centers for professional training, skills development, and youth leadership. The CEO attributed the progress to consistent adherence to excellence, integrity, and innovation. The academy now holds complete national certifications, including business registration, tax clearance, and accreditation granted by the Ministry of Education and the Center for Educational Excellence Accreditation Commission of Liberia (CEEACAL).
It is also authorized by the Agricultural and Industrial Training Bureau and has secured trademark protection for all three of its operating brands. “These credentials establish our credibility and assure stakeholders that we remain aligned with national quality standards,” Kerkulah stated. He emphasized recent investments in technology: a modern computer lab equipped with more than 20 laptops, an online enrollment system, a certificate verification platform, the “Ask Gonet” AI assistant, and the QR-enabled assessment tool GQuiz.
“These systems reflect our dedication to accessibility, transparency, and innovation,” he said. GonetAfrica’s digital presence continues to surge, with more than 38,700 Facebook followers, 5,000 active WhatsApp community members, and an average of 10,000 monthly website visitors. According to Kerkulah, the academy’s content now reaches roughly four million people every 28 days an indicator, he noted, of strong public confidence.
Over the past five years, the institution has collaborated with more than 500 organizations including government agencies, private companies, non-governmental groups, and academic institutions and has secured 10 formal partnerships focused on training and organizational development. Looking ahead, Kerkulah revealed a five-year agenda centered on regional expansion, strengthened youth leadership programs, broader international partnerships, deepened digital learning, and increased access for underserved communities.
