The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in close consultation with the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), has released the adjusted prices for petroleum products effective Monday, September 8, 2025. As part of the new adjustment, the price of Fuel Oil (AGO) has been reduced by Ten United States Cents (US$0.10), while the price of Gasoline (PMS) has been reduced by Seven United States Cents (US$0.07). This measure reflects recent developments on the international petroleum market and is intended to ensure that Liberians benefit directly from the adjustments in global prices. The new prices are as follows:
Note: The exchange rate used for this circular is LD 200.00 to US$1.00, as published by the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) on September 4, 2025. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has assured the public that its Inspectorate Team will rigorously monitor the approved ceiling prices across the country to prevent arbitrary hikes at the pump, urging Importers, distributors, and retailers to comply strictly with the new pricing structure.
The Ministry said it is working in collaboration with the LPRC to ensure fair competition in the Petroleum Sector. This includes discouraging price undercutting and maintaining industry standards that safeguard the interests of consumers and the stability of the Liberian market. The Commerce Ministry also renewed Government’s commitment to protecting consumers and promoting transparency and accountability in the petroleum distribution chain and ensuring efficiency and affordability of the products.
