Former Representative of Nimba County District #7 and stalwart of the ruling Unity Party, Hon. Roger S. W. Domah, is set to officially host a Peace and Reconciliation Program for citizens of District #7. The initiative marks the first major community reconciliation effort since the conclusion of Liberia’s 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections. The highly anticipated event is expected to draw thousands of residents, traditional leaders, local officials, youth groups, and women’s organizations from across the district. It aims to foster unity, strengthen social cohesion, and promote lasting peace and development among citizens who were divided during the heated political season.
According to Hon. Domah, the gathering represents a defining moment for the district a chance for citizens to “close the chapter of division and open a new one of peace, unity, and progress.” “This event is not just a political meeting; it is a family gathering,” Hon. Domah said. “We are one people, and our future depends on our ability to forgive, to reconcile, and to build together for the common good.” The Peace and Reconciliation Program will feature cultural performances, interfaith prayers, and inspirational messages from community leaders and national figures. It is being organized under the theme: “Together for Peace, Unity, and Development.” In a powerful statement ahead of the program, Hon. Domah extended heartfelt appreciation to all citizens of District #7 for their resilience and commitment to peace, emphasizing that true development can only be achieved through unity.
“Ladies and gentlemen, beloved citizens of District #7, it is a profound honor to stand before you at this Peace and Reconciliation Program a gathering that reflects the resilience and spirit of unity among the great people of Nimba County,” he declared. “Today, you come together not just as individuals, but as a cohesive force, recognizing that our strength lies in our ability to unite for the common good. Unity is the cornerstone of development; it is the fertile ground from which prosperity grows.” Hon. Domah reaffirmed his support for the Joseph N. Boakai–Jeremiah K. Koung (JNB-JKK) administration, noting that its vision for inclusive governance aligns with the district’s aspirations for stability and progress. “The JNB-JKK Government embodies the ideals of unity and mutual respect, believing wholeheartedly that these principles are essential for our collective advancement.
It is through unity that we can build bridges of understanding and pave the way for progress.” Reflecting on the current political landscape of Nimba County, Hon. Domah acknowledged the challenges posed by leadership transitions particularly in the absence of Senator Prince Y. Johnson and called on citizens to rally behind the district’s current representatives and national leaders. “In this significant time of transition, our community stands at a crossroads. Now, more than ever, the call for unity is paramount. We must rally together to support not only our local leaders but also our two esteemed senators and the Vice President of Liberia. It is through their leadership and our collective effort that we can overcome the challenges that threaten to sow discord among us.” He also reminded citizens that development is a shared responsibility and that progress cannot be achieved in an atmosphere of division.
“Philosophically, we must understand that development is a collective endeavor. Progress is born not from division but from collaboration and respect. Let us find common ground in our aspirations and dreams for a prosperous District #7. By working together, we can overcome any obstacle and ensure that our community flourishes.” As District #7 embarks on this new chapter of reconciliation, Hon. Domah encouraged all residents to embrace dialogue, forgiveness, and cooperation as guiding principles for rebuilding relationships and institutions. “As we embark on this journey of reconciliation, I urge each of you to reflect on the power of unity. Stand firm beside your leaders; foster dialogue and understanding within your communities.
Together, let us mitigate the issues that seek to divide us and instead focus on building an enduring legacy of peace and cooperation.” Concluding his remarks, Hon. Domah expressed optimism that the program would mark a turning point for the district, inspiring a renewed sense of purpose and solidarity among its people. “Let us walk forward as a united force dedicated to the principles of mutual respect and development. Together, we can transform our challenges into opportunities and create a future that honors the dreams of all. Stand with me, embrace the spirit of unity, and let us propel District #7 into a brighter tomorrow.” The Peace and Reconciliation Program is expected to be graced by key national dignitaries, traditional chiefs, members of the clergy, youth leaders, and citizens from all parts of Nimba County.
