Lofa County Electoral District #3 lawmaker Hon. GISSIE KOLLANCE has written a communication to the Plenary of the House of Representatives craving the indulgence of the House to invite Justice Minister and Police Chief in connection to the alleged murder and disappearnce of Yarkpawolo Moisemah and Jekawo Masima in Voinjama and Konia Town in Lofa County. After deliberation, The plenary of the House of Representatives has agreed to summon Minister of Justice Cllr. Oswald Tweh and Inspector General of Police Gregory Coleman to appear before plenary on November 11, 2025 to provide updates on investigations into the death of Yarkpawolo Moisemah in police custody and the disappearance of Fesseh Aggrey, both in Lofa County.
The summons followed a communication from Lofa County lawmaker Hon. Gizzie Kollince, whose communication highlighted the incidents to the House's attention, citing autopsy results that contradicted the initial claim of suicide in Yarkpawolo Moisemah's death. Kollince emphasized that Yarkpawolo Moisemah was murdered, and a police officer is allegedly linked to the killing. The District #4 lawmaker expressed frustration over the lack of progress. Hon. Kollince questioned why Moisemah's body has remained in the mortuary since January.
Hon. Kollance's communication stems from the alleged murder of Yarkpawolo Moisemah, which reportedly took place in Voinjama in January 2025 while he was being detained at the Liberia National Police Headquarters, and the alleged disappearance of Jekawo Masima, which is said to have occurred in Konia Town in Lofa County in March 2025. The House has tasked the Minister of Justice and the Inspector General of Police to provide answers on the investigations and handling of cases.
