The Coalition for the Movement of Change (CMC) has officially welcomed former University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU) President Jacob Jallah into its ranks, marking a significant political crossover months after his high-profile entry into the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC). The announcement was made by CMC Political Leader Musa Hassan Bility, who has already assigned Jallah a role within the party’s organizational structure. Jacob Jallah, a prominent youth advocate and influential student leader, joined the CDC in May 2025 at an elaborate ceremony that also saw the induction of another rising student leader, Richardson Jallamwalimu Korboi.
At the time, Jallah’s move sparked broad political attention, given his visible activism and strong following among young voters. His decision to now cross over to the CMC underscores what the party describes as a growing wave of confidence in its vision, leadership, and strategic direction. Political Leader Musa Bility expressed optimism about Jallah’s addition to the movement, describing him as a “dynamic young leader whose passion, intellect, and grassroots connection align perfectly with the CMC’s mission to redefine Liberia’s political landscape.”
“We are proud to welcome Jacob Jallah into the CMC family,” Bility stated. “His experience in student leadership and national advocacy makes him an asset to our party. We believe he will make meaningful contributions as we continue to build a stronger and more inclusive political movement.” For his part, Jallah expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to work diligently in his assigned role. He noted that his decision is driven by a desire to engage with a political platform he believes aligns more closely with his values, aspirations, and commitment to national development.
“This is a new chapter for me,” Jallah said. “I am joining the CMC because I see a genuine opportunity to contribute to transformative leadership and to champion the issues affecting young people across Liberia.” With this latest crossover, the CMC leadership says it remains focused on expanding its outreach, strengthening its internal structures, and attracting emerging leaders who share the party’s vision for a progressive and people-centered Liberia.
