In a demonstration of oversight and commitment to the company’s growth, the Board Chairperson of the National Oil Company of Liberia - NOCAL, Cllr. Gloria Maya Musu-Scott, along with members of the Board of Directors, visited the company’s new headquarters, now under construction on 1st Street, Sinkor, directly opposite the UN Building, on September 22, 2025. Accompanying them were NOCAL’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Fabian Michael Lai, and the Vice President for Administration, Hon. M. Boakai Jaleiba, Jr. Other Members of the Senior Management Team joined the delegation and provided detailed updates while conducting a guided walk-through of the facility.
From the ground floor to the rooftop, the Board members inspected the assigned offices, conference halls, and support spaces, while also observing the steady pace of construction. They expressed appreciation for the project’s progress, praised the dedication of the construction and management teams, and offered practical suggestions to ensure the facility meets the company’s long-term strategic objectives. Now estimated at nearly 80% complete, the building is set to become an innovative corporate hub, featuring five upper floors in addition to a ground floor and a rooftop terrace. Its design emphasizes both operational efficiency and executive functionality, with provisions to accommodate future technological and organizational needs.
Key to the development is an emphasis on workplace safety. The headquarters will feature modern fire detection and alarm systems, clearly marked emergency exit routes, and other critical protections, which signals a very clear evidence of NOCAL’s determination to provide safe and supportive environment for employees and clients alike. The Board’s visit highlighted its role in ensuring accountability and reaffirmed the company’s broader transformation agenda. The new headquarters symbolizes innovation, institutional strength, and adherence to global standards.
