The office of the President Pro Tempore, Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence, clarifies to the public that madam Karnga Lawrence didn't "boycott" the recently observed Flag Day event as reported by some media outlets. Madame Karnga Lawrence who is not just the Pro temp of the Liberian Senate but also a Senator of Grand Bassa County - is currently out of the Country attending a program in the United States. As part of her Legislative break which is by law, Pro temp Karnga Lawrence is expected to served as the keynote speaker at the UNIBOA 34th convention - from Friday August 31 to Monday September 1, 2025. UNIBIO, is the United Bassa organization in the Americas - a group of Bassa citizens Pro temp Karnga Lawrence is also representing at the Liberian Senate, as their Senator.
Though out of the Country, Senator Lawrence didn't hold back pledging her allegiance to the Flag - as she indicated in an official Facebook post - that 'honoring the flag is a commitment to patriotism always.' Pro temp Karnga Lawrence has always been a nationalist - and a dedicated service Woman to her Country and the people she represents - something which is evident by her selfless leadership over the years. As a Senator representing the people of Bassa, Senator Karnga Lawrence remains very focus and committed while on legislative break - engaging her people in the rural parts of the Country and those out of Liberia - who are also part of her constituents. These interactions and or engagements, will be captured upon the return of the Senate from it's break - in order to make informed decision where and when necessary.
