Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr., Senior Senator representing Bomi County, has officially announced the constitution of a Scholarship Committee tasked with vetting and recruiting one hundred (100) deserving candidates to enroll at Bomi Community College. The committee has been vested with a strict mandate to design a transparent recruitment strategy, vet applicants, and conduct an impartial selection process to ensure that all beneficiaries are fairly considered. The following individuals have been appointed to the committee: 

  1. Mr. Adama Seh — Chairman (Senjeh)
  2. Mr. Prince V. Tulay — Secretariat
  3. Mr. Paul C. Digen, Jr. — Secretariat
  4. Mr. Harry Rangland (CoS) — Ex. Official
  5. Mr. Moses Sah — Civil Society Representative
  6. Mr. Mulbah Best Johnson — Coordinator
  7. Mr. Alpha Bah — Student Council Government Representative
  8. Mr. Zobong Coleman — Senator Snowe’s Home Office Representative
  9. Mr. David T. Ross — Youth Representative
  10. Comfort Arkpan — Member
  11. Mr. Abraham Hinna — Klay District Representative
  12. Edwin GB Kpingbah — Teh District Representative
  13. Mohammed Sancho — Sueh Mecca District Representative
  14. Leasa Kiatamba — Dowein District Representative

 With immediate effect, the committee is authorized to engage the Bomi Community College Authority to ensure that financial support for the 100 beneficiaries is disbursed in accordance with the institution’s timelines and regulations. Senator Snowe emphasized that this initiative forms part of his ongoing commitment to human capacity building, targeting in-school youths and other individuals seeking tertiary education to acquire professional skills. 

He noted that the decision follows a request from both the President of Bomi Community College, Dr. Zobong Norman, and students during the institution’s 12th commencement convocation, urging continued investment in scholarships and human development. In addition, Senator Snowe reiterated his dedication to providing both international and local scholarships to deserving students across Bomi County. 

He pledged to work closely with the county’s educational institutions to adopt robust strategies aimed at improving academic performance and ensuring better outcomes in upcoming West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE). Through this initiative, Senator Snowe continues to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to education, youth empowerment, and the development of human capital in Bomi County and Liberia at large.
