The Operations Director of Sethi Brothers, Mr. Illunga M. Cedrick has firmly denied recent claims circulating in Monrovia that the fire at the company’s Gardnersville iron factory operations caused harmful pollution affecting local residents. Contrary to reports from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Disaster Release Commission suggesting the fire led to dangerous pollution with potential deadly consequences, Mr. Cedrick described these allegations as false and misleading.

He emphasized that these assertions were made without any scientific evidence or proper environmental assessment. In an exclusive interview with journalists in Monrovia,  Mr. Cedrick acknowledged the fire incident but explained that the company responded promptly, utilizing their firetrucks to contain and extinguish the blaze immediately, minimizing any risk to the surrounding community.

Environmental experts have also questioned the premature conclusions drawn by the government agencies, urging for thorough scientific studies before public statements are made. Sethi Brothers remains committed to the safety and well-being of its neighbours and will continue cooperating with relevant authorities to ensure public safety and good environmental health.
