The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon on Monday, August 25, 2025, participated in a program marking the official dedication of roads, a bridge, and a chief’s hall in Leesonnoh, Burtein, Electoral District #8, Nimba County. The projects, initiated under the leadership of Hon. Saye Sylvester Mianah, Representative of Electoral District #8, were dedicated in the presence of His Excellency Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, alongside members of the Legislature, local government officials, and citizens of Nimba County. As part of the day’s events, a gowning ceremony was held in honor of Vice President Koung and Speaker Koon. This traditional gesture of respect and appreciation was organized by the people of Nimba County in recognition of their contributions to national leadership and development. The program was attended by Senators Nya D. Twayen Jr. and Samuel G. Kogar, as well as several members of the House of Representatives, including Hon. Samuel N. Brown Sr., Hon. Nyahn C. Flomo Sr., Hon. Ernest Manseah Sr., Hon. James M. Kolleh of Bong County, and other local leaders such as Hon. Kou Meapeh Gono, Superintendent of Nimba County, and Hon. Harrison Karnwee. In remarks delivered at the ceremony, Speaker Koon extended appreciation to the people of Nimba County for the honor bestowed upon him and reaffirmed the commitment of the House of Representatives to advancing people-driven development initiatives across the country.
