The ruling Unity Party has announced that it has returned to its old Congo Town headquarters following the party's purchase of the property it previously occupied prior to eviction in 2022. The Party was ordered to leave its Congo Town headquarters by the Civil Law Court in 2022 after failure to pay US$150,000 in rent. This decision came after the party's lawyers admitted in court that they owed money to McClain Enterprises, the owner of the building used by the Unity Party.

In a powerful address to the press, Unity Party Vce Chair for Administration and Chairperson of the Homecoming Steering Committee, Senator Dabah M. Varplah, announced that the party has bought the land it once occurred prior to the eviction in 2021. She emphasized the significance of the party returnining home, stating, "This program is not just about raising money. It is about building a permanent home for our great party, a home that will stand as a symbol of our unity, our resilience, and our commitment to a better Liberia."

Varplah added that the party's new headquarters will serve as a symbol of its unity and strength, providing a space for partisans to generate new ideas, craft strategies, and plan for a brighter future for Liberia. "The Unity Party has been at the heart of Liberia's democratic journey," Varplah said, highlighting the party's rich history and role in promoting peace, stability, and progress. The ruling Unity Party has set up a committee to ensure the success of the fundraising effort. The party has set up various committees, including a fundraising committee, a mobilization committee, and a policy committee.

A friendly fundraising challenge among county chapters has also been launched, with the top three contributing counties to be honored and celebrated. “We are returning to a place dear to our hearts to build a home that will serve as the foundation for the party's next generation,” Varplah said, urging partisans and friends to join the effort. The Unity Party further called on all partisans to join Vice Standard Bearer, Honorable Jeremiah Koung, and Chairman J. Luther Tarpeh, as they lead the infrastructure and venue preparation team to launch the cleanup of the site on Saturday, November 22nd.

Varplah also urged all partisans to rise to the occasion and contribute to the effort, saying, “Fellow partisans, the call has been made, the challenge has been set; now is the time for action. Let every county, every district, and community every partisan rise to the occasion. Together, let us build the Unity Party headquarters that will be our home, our symbol, and our future.” The party's return home marks a significant milestone in its history, and its national fundraising and homecoming program is expected to be a major success.
