ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) has announced steady progress on the ongoing rehabilitation of the vital 28-kilometer Kakata-Harbel Hills Road, a key transportation route in Margibi County. The road, which connects Kakata to the Harbel Hills area near the Firestone Staff Club, is being upgraded under AML’s sponsorship as part of its broader commitment to infrastructure development in Liberia. According to AML’s latest project update, work is proceeding on schedule, with close monitoring of implementation efforts to ensure quality and timely delivery. “This project is important not just for transportation but for economic growth and improved access across the region,” AML stated. “We’re pleased with the progress so far and commend all partners involved for their dedication.”
The rehabilitation is being carried out by the Frebenja Group of Companies, which AML praised for its professionalism and high standards. The company added that the contractor’s on-the-ground team has demonstrated strong technical capacity and a firm commitment to delivering long-term benefits for residents and road users. The Kakata-Harbel Hills corridor is widely recognized as a strategic route for local commerce, agricultural transport, and access to services. Once completed, the upgraded road is expected to enhance regional mobility, reduce travel time, and stimulate greater economic activity throughout Margibi County. AML reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national development goals through impactful projects such as this. The company emphasized that improving infrastructure is essential to building stronger communities and promoting inclusive growth.
