Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Thomas P. Fallah, has officially dedicated the JNB Eye Care Center in Foya, a state-of-the-art facility established by ICM Africa Eye Health Service to provide critical eye care services to rural populations in northern Liberia. The dedication ceremony, held on July 30, 2025, was attended by community leaders, local health professionals, and residents who praised the initiative as a much-needed intervention in Lofa County. The center is expected to serve thousands of patients annually, offering eye screenings, treatments, and referrals for advanced care. “For too long, residents in this part of Lofa have had to travel long distances—even crossing into neighboring countries for basic eye treatment,” Deputy Speaker Fallah said in his keynote address. “This center is a step toward changing that reality and restoring hope to many.” The JNB Eye Care Center is part of a broader effort to address preventable and treatable eye conditions that often go undiagnosed in rural areas. The facility will offer regular outreach programs to nearby communities and serve as a model for future healthcare expansion in underserved regions. “This is just the beginning,” Fallah continued. “We are committed to working with our partners to expand healthcare services in every corner of Liberia. Access to quality healthcare is not a luxury it is a right.” Deputy Speaker Fallah praised the leadership of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, describing him as “God-sent” for Liberia. He noted that the President’s vision for inclusive development is beginning to materialize through practical initiatives like the JNB Eye Care Center. The ICM Africa Eye Health Service team expressed gratitude for the support of government officials and pledged to sustain the project through ongoing training, equipment, and community outreach.
