The House of Representatives Joint Committee on Compliance Review has officially summoned Mr. Jeff B. Blibo, Chairman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), along with all members of the Inter-Ministerial Concessions Committee (IMCC), to appear before a high-level compliance review meeting. This pivotal session is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00 noon, in the Speaker's Conference Room at the New Annex of the Capitol Building.The meeting’s primary focus will be to receive a comprehensive compliance update on the operations of ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML). Specifically, it will assess the company's adherence to regulatory requirements and the terms of its concession agreements over its two decades of investment activity in Liberia. Hon. Foday E. Fahnbulleh, Chair of the Joint Committee, underscored the significance of the session, emphasizing the critical need for transparency, accountability, and sustained legislative oversight in all concession-related engagements. He stated that the review would provide a vital platform for evaluating AML’s past performance, identifying gaps in implementation, and shaping future policy and investment decisions.
“All relevant stakeholders are strongly encouraged to attend this session promptly and come fully prepared,” said Hon. Fahnbulleh. “We expect detailed documentation and reports relating to AML’s operational history, compliance indicators, and its collaborative engagements with the Government of Liberia.” The Committee reiterates its commitment to ensuring that concession agreements benefit the Liberian people and are executed in full accordance with national laws and development priorities.
