MD Dukuly Convenes Senior Management Meeting, Reactivates Employees’ Medical Insurance

In a decisive move to bolster employee welfare and drive operational excellence, Hon. Sekou Dukuly, Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), convened a high-level Senior Management Team (SMT) meeting this week, during which the long-dormant employees’ Medical Insurance scheme was officially reactivated after being inactive since 2021. The reactivation of the Medical Insurance program marks a significant milestone for the Authority, signaling management’s renewed dedication to enhancing staff wellbeing and recognizing health benefits as a critical factor in improving employee morale, retention, and overall productivity. Speaking on the development, MD Dukuly emphasized that investing in the health and welfare of NPA employees is essential to fostering a motivated workforce capable of delivering efficient and effective services. “Our employees are the backbone of this institution. Reactivating their medical insurance is not just about benefits; it’s about showing that their health and security matter deeply to this leadership,” Hon. Dukuly stated. “We believe a healthy workforce is a productive workforce, and this initiative is a vital part of our commitment to employee support.” The Senior Management meeting also featured a comprehensive performance review across all core departments, including Administration, Operations, and Security. The review highlighted areas requiring improved efficiency, strengthened accountability, and enhanced teamwork. These areas were identified as crucial for elevating the Authority’s service delivery standards and boosting its institutional reputation nationally and internationally. In addition to operational discussions, the SMT meeting celebrated notable improvements in the NPA’s compliance with employee statutory obligations. The Authority has now brought its remittances up to date with the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), effectively resolving prior lapses and setting a new standard of financial responsibility and transparency. “Being current with statutory contributions demonstrates our dedication to lawful and ethical management,” Hon. Dukuly remarked. “This progress is a clear indication of the leadership’s focus on transparency and accountability.” These achievements reflect a broader leadership vision aimed at repositioning the National Port Authority as a high-performing public institution anchored on a people-centered approach. By prioritizing both employee welfare and institutional efficiency, the NPA is laying the groundwork for sustainable growth and enhanced public confidence. Staff members across the Authority have welcomed the Medical Insurance reactivation and renewed management focus on workplace improvements, viewing these steps as positive indicators of a forward-looking administration. The National Port Authority remains committed to continuous engagement with its workforce and stakeholders to ensure an inclusive environment that values wellbeing, responsibility, and excellence.
