The motorcyclists of Grand Gedeh County and Liberia at large are calling on all fellow cyclists across the country to boycott the protest being organized by STAND and the former ruling party, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), scheduled for July 17, 2025. Speaking on behalf of the cyclists, Hon. Aaron Safa Weah Sr., President of the Motorcyclists of Grand Gedeh County, issued a strong statement urging motorcyclists to refrain from participating in activities that risk undermining the peace and stability of the nation. “We, the motorcyclists of Grand Gedeh and the entire Republic of Liberia, remain fully committed to supporting the current government in its efforts to promote peace, development, and national stability,” Hon. Weah declared. The leadership of the motorcyclists emphasized that the best way forward for Liberia is through national unity, constructive dialogue, and collaboration not through acts of disruption or division. The motorcyclists believe that such planned protests serve only to heighten tension and hinder progress at a time when the country needs healing and cooperation. “We understand the challenges Liberia faces, but we also recognize that street protests led by political actors seeking to sow discord are not the solution,” the statement continued. “We are calling on all our fellow motorcyclists throughout Liberia to distance themselves from this protest and rather focus on meaningful engagement that supports peace and national development.” The motorcyclists further reaffirmed their commitment to the government’s efforts in ensuring a safer, more prosperous future for all Liberians. They expressed confidence in President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s leadership and vision for inclusive governance, infrastructure development, and job creation. “We continue to pray for the success of this government and encourage all Liberians regardless of political affiliation to put the interest of our country above all personal or political agendas,” Hon. Weah concluded. The leadership of the motorcyclists is calling on the Liberia National Police and other security agencies to ensure that all attempts to destabilize the peace are handled within the framework of the law and with the highest level of professionalism.
